Chapter Six: First Encounter with the Virkin

They pulled into the land and everyone one of the soldiers including Ken and Kaldun stepped off. All the buildings were burned to the ground and bodies laid everywhere, most burned to the point that you couldn’t even tell who they were. Then one of the soldiers pulled out a person from a building, they were still alive. Surprisingly it was an Elf, but not a soldier but a civilian.

Kaldun walked over to the Elf and they laid her down on a ground and kept his head up. The Elf has blood all over her, they needed to help her. A soldier came over to the Elf and took out bandages and began to patch her up. “It is surprising to see an Elf here” Kaldun told her. The Elf girl coughed “Human, not all Elves are a pack of murdering psycho’s bent on destroying a race.” She was about the same age as Ken.

Ken then also walked over and then asked “What happened here? Did Elves attack?” The girl responded “No, it was the Virkins… I bet they are still around here…” Suddenly a soldier cried out “Virkins are here!” Everyone pulled out there weapons. Kaldun then turned around and faced some soldiers “Protect the girl. Ken lets go.” It seems the talking that Kaldun with the soldiers when Ken slept must have gained their loyalty or something because they were following what he said Ken thought to himself.

”I guess I got a natural born leader on my hands…” Ken whispered to himself. Then Kaldun screamed out “Rest of the soldiers follow me and Ken in a defensive position!” All the soldiers had large shields and they all held them out. Suddenly Ken noticed it was a bit darker around him and so he looked up and saw something come at him. Ken screamed “VIRKIN ABOVE!” and so he jumped out of the way and the 10’9” Lizard humanoid struck the ground and the ground shook and dust was everyone and it blinded Ken.

Fire then came out from the dust and Ken held up his blade and the fire was sucked in. His blades then were know on fire, he could either begin attacking up close and burn and slice the Virkin or send a fire slash back at it but Ken didn’t have to think. Suddenly the Virkin jumped out of the dust and Ken and the giant black scaled Virkin began clashing blades. More Virkin arrived and all soldiers then were in battle. Kaldun was easily taking out Virkin soldiers despite their size and strength.

Ken jumped back and then slashed the fire out of his blades into the air at the Virkin but the Virkin absorbed the fire and shot it back burning Ken. Light smoke was coming from the Virkins mouth and the orange eyes stared fiercely at Ken. Just as the Virkin began to rush again Ken threw his blade at the Virkin and stabbed him. The Virkin screamed and so Ken ran up and stabbed the Virkin in the head and the Virkins black blood spilled out all over his blade. Ken made sure it was dead but then suddenly fell over and fainted…

Chapter Five: Why he is here

As the sun began to go down, Ken began to get tried and wanted to sleep. Kaldun was talking with some other soldiers and wasn’t tired. So Ken found a open place on the deck of the ship and then laid on the ground. Soon he fell asleep. Ken began to dream or replay the memories of how this all started.

It was subtle, no one expected it at least the Humans didn’t. When the Elves began to attack all the humans in Marelock it caused a shock around the world. Some races agreed with their actions, but others didn’t agree and began to give aid to Humans. Though the races that gave aid are not as large as Elves populations and were easily stopped and no longer aid is given.

When the genocide had begun, Ken wasn’t even born yet. He was born five years later to a world of death and despair. His family was never killed but they were forced into hiding so they wouldn’t be killed. The whole genocide began because Elves believe Humans are a “lesser race” because Humans came off of Elves. Though it has been seen that Elves also fear Humans and fear that they will somehow one day over run Elves.

Ken was separated from his family and so he wondered Marelock in search of them. Until he joined the Marelock Military and then he began to train to use daggers because he liked their light weight and being able to attack very fast. During this time he traveled to many bases over the world and meet many people including Ivon and got too rank Lord which is a high military rank. He never was able to get attached to any place he stayed and so he never truly felt sad when a village of Humans are attacked.

Then during a expedition deep into Tenoa, a material was found that could suck in magic if magic is shot at the material. During the expedition though, the people were killed by Elf soldiers and they tried to hide the mine. So they sent Ken in with other soldiers to take back the mine. The results, were everyone died but Ken and he was only able to scavenge enough of the material to make two daggers. After he returned to Enrin were it was the only safe place left for Humans that they could find enough time to forge the daggers.

Once the daggers were forged, he headed to Majesta and then to current time. Days passed on the boat heading to Marelock. No Elf or Virkins boats appeared and so they were able to rest. Ken was awoke to the captain telling them that Marelock is near but as Ken and all the soldiers looked a sudden despair went over them as they saw smoke rising into the air and fire all across the land.

Chapter Four: Leaving the Port

The port just like Majesta was crowded with Merchants and soldiers. It was clear were they needed to go as half of the port was reserved for soldiers. As they got near the gate, the guards moved away from the gate and saluted them. When they entered the gate was closed behind them. Many soldiers were carrying crates full of weapons onto boats and off of boats. All the army boats were loaded with cannons and magic weapons and refortified with armor.

Across from them was a two story building made of wood, and a sign reading Dock Manager on the side. “We need to talk to the Dock Manager, he looks over all boats that dock, military or not” the knight said. So they walked over to the building making sure not to walk in front of soldiers carrying crates. They opened the door and the dock manager greeted them.

She was a middle-aged women wearing only a white shirt and shorts, short brown hair, big blue eyes and not looking as if she would be working at a port. They walked over to the counter she was at with piles of paper. “Kaldun, odd to see you out of Majesta… What are you doing here?” she asked. Kaldun replied “Yeah, it’s not too often Nania… We are sort of on a mission…” The Knight stepped forward closer to the counter “We need a ship, that is heavily defendable and is going to Marelock. This is an order from Commander Elvin, and Grinix.” Nania put her arms on the counter and kept her head up with them and then took a piece of paper from the pile.

”Is that so huh…” she said as she looked over the paper “Well I am sorry but we don’t have any free ships, but we have one already going to be leaving for Marelock and is what you need to defend against any enemy ships.” Ken responded “That’s alright, which boat is it?” she looked out the window closets to her “It is the one closest to the gate and is the biggest one.” Nania began to write something down on a small paper and then handed it to Ken. “Give that to the tall knight with the helmet that has a gold lining and he should let you on. “Thanks” replied Ken.

They walked out of the building and began to head to the boat. The knight stopped as they were walking “Well, I guess I better get back to Trinity now as you guys seem to be set.” Kaldun was the one to reply before Ken “Thank you, your help is appreciated.” As the knight began to walk away Ken stopped him “Hey before you go what is your name?” The knight turned and answered “My name is Engale Voloask. Maybe we will meet again?” Ken replied “Maybe…”

Engale left the soldier section and then headed back to Trinity. Ken and Kaldun headed over to the ship and when they reached the Knight, they gave him the note. He read it and then let them on the boat were they would wait. Hours passed and finally the boat was ready to, the boat was filled with soldiers and mages and soon the boat moved away from the dock and they began to head to Marelock.

Chapter Three: First Time

It was hard to move around with all the trees overgrowing the path to the port and with all the vines hanging down getting in their faces. The Knight was right in front of them, Kaldun was in the middle and Ken was behind them, they were all in a single file line. As they moved on, Ken keep looking around swearing he was seeing something which wouldn’t be absurd if he was seeing something. A small clearing was up ahead so they all stopped. “What are the chances of a monster ambush in the clearing?” asked Ken.

The knight looked back at him “It’s quite high, in fact I am almost certain their will be a ambush.” Kaldun walked past them with his sword in attacking position and shield in defense and walked out into the clearing, Ken and the knight fallowed. They were right as soon as they got in the middle, monsters began to jump at them. They were parasite monsters who take peoples magic away and use them. Kaldun crouched and then ran at one and slash it in half, The knight side stepped and stabbed another one. The one in front of Ken began to charge a magic attack, while two other parasites protect it. Ken slashed the two of them but wasn’t fast enough to hit the third.

Ken put his daggers out front and the magic blast of fire went at the daggers and the daggers absorbed it. Then Ken slashed the air and a fire blast went at the parasite burning it and killing it, this was the first time he had used the daggers. When Ken turned around to face Kaldun and the Knight  they were already finished and had killed more than he had.

”Well are their anymore?” asked Ken. “Nope they are dead. So let’s keep going” said Kaldun. So they left the clearing and began running this time through the jungle dogging every obstacle until the path started to expand. They slowed down and looked ahead, it was the port. Ken was happy to be out of the jungle and out near the sea and civilization, but they weren’t in the jungle for very long.

They headed down the path to the port where they would get the boat.

Chapter Two: Fortress Trinity

They had to run, quick, they had no time to stop for anything. They needed to get the edge of the island. Waiting at the edge of the island is a Vinisle, a dragon-like creature with red fur, black scale spots, and white feathers on its wings that fly’s for a short time and is very rare to find and only some live on Majesta. It was hard for Ken to keep up with Kaldun as he wasn’t a magic user and magic tends to get a bit of a boost physically so that they can withstand the magic energy in their bodies. Kaldun made it to the Vinisle before Ken did and so he was already ready to get when he made it there.

When he got there, he was pulled up onto the back of the large Vinisle and they were off. Everything starting to become blurry as their speed increased. Majesta quickly began to get smaller in look as they moved away from it and the ground of the continent below quickly was getting larger. Ken wasn’t used to going so fast, he had rode the Vinisle up to Majesta but puked as he flew up. Kaldun was perfectly fine and was able to keep complete control over the Vinisle.

The ground was very close now and the Vinisle was starting to lose its flight, and began to slow down. He could see a sort of fortress on the ground, it had the flag of Majesta on the top of the tallest tower. In the fortress a sort of landing pad was designed for Vinisle to land. Knights moved away from the landing pad and watched as the Vinisle landed. When the Vinisle fully stopped, Ken got off immediately and puked, Kaldun thought nothing of it and saluted when another Knight but in a more royal design armor walked up to them.

”Welcome Kaldun to Fortress Trinity, you haven’t been in awhile and you Ken, nice to see you again, weren’t you just here like less than two hours ago?” the knight asked them as Ken stood up after he wiped his mouth with a cloth and another knight washed the puke. “Yeah good to see you again Commander Elvin, yeah the meeting with King Ivon was a bit short and we needed to get going fast or the island would have moved away from the Fortress and the Vinisle wouldn’t have been able to make it.” Ken responded.

Kaldun stopped saluting “Commander Elvin, we need a boat to Marelock and fast, the sake of the Human race could be at risk, we got a new weapon that could prove quite useful against the Elves despite only having one of them.” Elvin waved over to a Knight and they ran over to him “We need a boat ready ASAP, one that can reach Marelock and has some suitable defense in case any Elves or Virkins attack.” The Knight saluted and responded “Yes Sir!” and then ran off.

”You guys better fallow him, the jungles of Enrin as you may already know Ken, can be quite a trek to get through and not to mention the beats that lurk in them” Elvin told them. “Alright then, let’s go Kaldun” Kaldun only nodded at Ken, he wasn’t much of a talker thought Ken as the only thing he said so far was what he said back at the castle. They both began to run, Kaldun being in front as before but this time he took out his long sword and shield. Ken took note and also took out his daggers, most likely it wont be a safe trip to the port.

Chapter One: A Short Meeting

Thirty years since the start of the genocide… Floating Island of Majesta. A person with a backpack and a black robe began to walk down the street of the city that lies on Majesta. Making his way down the crowded streets he intends to get to the castle at the edge of the city. Around him is mostly Humans, and rarely a few Elves, but it is a city of peace. When he reached the castle, the guards gave him a funny look, and they inspected him with magic and then he gave them a note and they allowed him in.

He made his way up the marble steps, as he did he took off his hood revealing a young face, short blue hair, red eyes, a scar on his bottom right part of his face. Once he got to the top of the steps he stopped, he was greeted by two girl servants of the Majesta Family “Fallow us, Lord Grinix, Master Ivon wishes to see you now.” Perfect timing thought Grinix, he at first thought he was going to have to wait.

Grinix fallowed them through a large marble corridor with marble statues and columns and a red carpet. At the end of the corridor was a large wooden door with gold around it and engraved into the door. The doors opened and the two servants stepped aside and closed the door as Grinix walked in. The room was quite large, large windows on each side, and in front of Grinix were the red carpet leads to his Master Ivon’s chair. Master Ivon was a old looking man with a short grey mustache and short grey trimmed hair, wrinkles on his face, but still young looking eyes of blue.

”Welcome my friend, Ken, or should I call you now Lord Grinix?” asked Ivon. “Ken is fine, we are friends so it only makes sense” responded Ken. Ivon sat upfront to see Ken better as he tended to slouch. “I assume you are here because “it” is finished?” Ken sat down and took something out of his backpack. He put it on the ground and began to uncover it, Ivon moved to the edge of his seat. From the cloth revealed two daggers, both engraved with many mysterious symbols.

”Yes it is complete, the daggers that steal magic. When  a mage shoots magic at me, these daggers will absorb them and then shoot them back. It allows non-mages to fight back, sadly what I used to make this, is now gone…” Ken explained to Ivon. Then Ivon stood and walked over to Ken “I assume this means you are going to be heading to Marelock to fight of the Elf and other forces?” Ken stood up “That is what I intend to do…”

Ivon walked over to a guard and whispered to him and the guard walked away. Ken turned and asked “What did you ask him?” Ivon walked back up to his chair and sat down and sighed “I asked him to go get Knight Kaldun, he will assist you on your journey to Marelock.”

Ken asked “Knight Kaldun?” just as Ken asked Kaldun walked in, he was wearing heavy plate armor with a roundish design, he took off his helmet and Ken could see what he looked liked. Kaldun had brown short hair, a eye patch on his right eye, and a giant scar around it, his showing eye was dull and green. He had seen much combat. “Hello Knight Kaldun, I am Ken Grinix, I am pleased to meet you.”

“Sorry, but we don’t have much time Ken, we need to get going now if we are going to get to the ground and off of Majesta” Kaldun told Ken. Ken turned and faced Ivon again “Alright well this was a short meeting, I was hoping we could chat longer but I guess we must go.” Ivon stood once more and bowed to Ken once, it was strange to see a king bow “I bow to use and wish you good luck, if you don’t stop them, they might get to us…”

Ken bowed back and then they left the room and left the castle…

Bodies of killed Humans lay on the ground with blood all around.  Bodies burnt and ripped apart, Humans still alive began to fight back the Elf soldiers but were quickly put down. All the houses were burned down, the Elf soldiers look around one more time and then began moving out of the area. Before they left though, one soldier knelt down and whispered “Soon, Humans, The scourge of life, will be destroyed…”

An hour passed, a small boy walked out from the woods, his eyes with a dead stare, he looked around, not being able to believe what just happened. Hours ago the small town of Rin was bustling with life, now is bustling with death. He dropped to his knees and began to cry and scream for the dead. The attack on the Humans by Elves wouldn’t be the last in the would be the first in a long Champaign of genocide of Humans….
